As a Network Partner of Carers Trust, we are promoting the launch of the Young Carers in Schools Award, developed by Carers Trust and The Children’s Society.
The award is a way for schools to continue to improve the ways they recognise young carers and support them in balancing their schoolwork and caring responsibilities at home.
It is a 5 step programme to improve recognition and support for young carers. It will also help prepare for the January school census returns. The main aim is to ensure that young carers’ attendance and attainment is not negatively impacted by caring responsibilities.
